In an expertly crafted saga of love, loss, honesty, and redemption, Dark Love chronicles one couple’s journey to the brink and back.

Lilla and Phillip are at a crossroads. It’s been two years since the devastating event that rocked their lives and damaged the foundation of their once picture-perfect relationship. They hardly communicate, unless they are arguing, and their marriage has become tense and cold. Lilla and Phillip’s home, once a symbol of hope and promise, languishes in disrepair and unfinished projects, much like their relationship. Lonely and desperate, Lilla seeks solace in the arms of another, although she doesn’t find what she expects.

As Lilla and Phillip struggle through the turmoil that stubbornness, anger, bitterness, and heartbreak have created, it’s impossible not to struggle along with them; Dukely is a master of creating palpable emotions. The characters are real and relatable, and even though they have unlikeable moments, they elicit  empathy and are ultimately loveable. Even when Lilla cheats and Phillip lashes out, neither are villains, just people fighting for a way out of the darkness.

When Phillip begins to show signs of change and takes tiny steps towards reconciliation, decisions that Lilla has made come back to haunt her, and the story takes a surprising turn. Throughout the book, the author hints at another pivotal character hovering just on the fringe of the story and although the character’s identity becomes somewhat easy to guess about halfway through, their ultimate effect on the story’s outcome provides a shocking twist.

With realistic dialogue, fully realized characters, and a perfectly paced, deliciously sensual, and engrossing story of true love, Dark Love is a perfect read for romance fans seeking a heart-wrenching journey with a happy ending.
