The story starts with TC on a mission to save his friend Ginny. It then jumps back in time to explain how they met at an outdoor music festival a year earlier.

When Jacob, Ginny’s fiancé, leaves her alone at the festival to connect with a female friend, TC offers Ginny shelter in his tent. Ginny accepts, sparking conversations that reveal their deepest secrets. Discussions about their past bring them closer, and they encourage each other to walk in their God-given purpose. Despite their instant connection, though, Ginny leaves with Jacob. TC is disheartened, saddled by the belief that she might repeat her mother’s relationship mistakes.

A year later, Ginny is a new mother struggling with drinking and an emotionally abusive relationship, and on the brink of ending her life. A tragic accident brings TC back to save her, but can he succeed before it’s too late?

The story delivers a poignant message about embracing your ordained purpose and finding beauty in starting over. As Ginny tells TC about her troubled past —marked by her sister’s death at the hands of her mother’s boyfriend and her reliance on the isolating relationship with Jacob—readers will empathize and root for a happy ending. TC’s part in Ginny’s eventual revelation and his efforts to save her are charming and heartfelt, and his own insecurities are endearing.

The novel spends significant time delving into Ginny and TC’s past (much of the narrative takes place during their conversations at the festival, at a single setting). While this look backwards adds depth, it ultimately slows momentum. Shifting the focus towards plot progression and trimming the backstory could improve narrative flow.

Nonetheless, many will find this an inspiring tale, one that highlights the impact of our interactions and the preciousness of life.
