BlueInk considers for review any book that has been published at least in part through the efforts and payments of its author (commonly called a “self-published” or “independently published” book). Even if your publisher pays you royalties, if you financed the publication in some way, including, for example, by committing to purchase a quantity of books, your book would qualify for a review.

We review e-books, on-demand books, printed books in any format, English translations and English-language submissions from outside the United States, as well as galleys. We do not review manuscripts pre-publication.

2. SET! MAKE YOUR INITIAL CHOICES

Choose below whether you would like a Standard Review ($395 for the review to be completed in 7-9 weeks) or Fast Track Review ($495 for the review to be completed in 4-5 weeks). Then make sure to read through our policies, decide whether you’ll be mailing your book or uploading it as a PDF* (there is a $19.95 handling charge for this service), and submit your order

3. GO! TELL US ABOUT YOUR BOOK AND SEND IT TO US FOR REVIEW

After you push the “order” button, you’ll be sent to a page asking you to fill in more details about yourself and your book--this information is used to help your book Get Found by readers through our site search engines. You'll then be guided through the process of uploading your PDF* or sending your book (2 copies) to the BlueInk offices.

That’s it! Once your review is finished, we’ll send it to you along with the means to activate and/or purchase some really nifty services. You’ll also be able at that time, or any time later, to opt out of running your review on our site.

Please read through the Agreement below and let us know you understand and agree by checking the “I Agree” box below.



First, once you order you may not cancel your order and your payment is not refundable, except as described in our Refund Policy.



BlueInk is under no obligation to provide a review. If BueInk elects not to provide a review of your book, your payment and your copies of your book will be returned to you.



Standard Reviews will be completed and returned to you within nine weeks of our receiving two copies of your book. Fast Track Reviews will be completed and returned to you within five weeks of our receiving two copies of your book. BlueInk will post your review 7 days after returning it to you, unless you have notified BlueInk in writing prior to that time, that you are opting-out of our posting your review.



You can, however, ask that your review be removed from the BlueInk Review website at any time.




YOU GRANT BLUEINK REVIEW THE AUTHORITY TO LICENSE THE REPRINT OF YOUR REVIEW TO INDUSTRY REVIEW PROVIDERS, INCLUDING , BUT NOT LIMITED TO, INGRAM iPAGE AND OASIS. IF YOU CHOOSE TO OPT OUT OF HAVING YOUR REVIEW POSTED ON THE BLUEINK REVIEW WEBSITE AFTER ONE WEEK FROM YOUR INITIAL RECEIPT OF THE REVIEW, IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT YOUR REVIEW MAY NONETHELESS APPEAR IN THESE INDUSTRY PUBLICATIONS AND WILL NOT BE REMOVED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THE REVIEW WILL, HOWEVER, BE PROMPTLY REMOVED FROM THE BLUEINK REVIEW WEBSITE.



The copies of your book that you send to BlueInk become the property of BlueInk and won’t be returned to you unless we elect not to provide a review.



You are free to reproduce and reprint the review of your book either in part or in its entirety for any and all of your marketing and promotional materials, including on the cover or jacket of your book but you can’t add words to, delete words from, or in any way alter the review. When you reprint the review, you agree to prominently credit “BlueInk Review.”



You understand that the review you receive will be objective, and may not be positive, and that you won’t be given a refund or a second chance if you don’t like or agree with the review. BlueInk specifically disclaims all warranties, express or implied, relating to its reviews. You have no legal recourse, and you agree not to threaten or commence litigation against BlueInk, if you don’t like the review. We’ll consider revising a review only if it contains factual errors, and only at our discretion.



We won’t reveal the identity of your reviewer, and we won’t allow you (or any author) to request a specific reviewer.



Finally, you can’t assign this Agreement to anyone else, and you represent and warrant that you are authorized to submit the book for a review. You expressly release BlueInk Review, its affiliates, employees and reviewers and agree to indemnify, defend and hold them harmless from and against any and all liabilities, damages, losses, claims, costs and fees (including attorneys’ fees) related to or arising in connection with the review and this Agreement.

Authors who have published e-books are welcome at BlueInk, and may obtain reviews through converting their ebooks to PDF files, and uploading their books directly and securely. The PDF upload service costs money because we print out the book for our reviewers. If you do have a print edition of your book, we encourage you to send it to us by whatever real-life mail carrier you wish, because it’s nice to see a book within its cover (even though we don’t judge it by that).
